The Eastern Bus Maintenance Management Conference (EBMMC) got its roots from a group of maintenance managers from the greater New York area back in 1934. They met to exchange ideas and solutions for problems that they were up against. A lot of years have passed since then, but now more than ever, maintenance plays a vital part in keeping a modern fleet of buses on the road.

Membership is limited to maintenance managers with at least three years experience as managers and are involved in the day to day operations. Meetings are held twice a year in different locations, favoring the east coast, and are usually hosted by the local bus company at that location. Over 100 bus companies are represented by the 200 plus members that attend the meetings. The meetings are closed door, roundtable discussion, which provide members valuable information and technical support without the restraints of the manufactures present.

The conference also features a trip of interest to a nearby members maintenance facility or manufacturers plant tour. Plant tours have included Detroit Diesel, Reliabilt, Cummins, Allison Transmissions, Prevost Car, ThermoKing, Universal Coach Parts and Delco Remy. Meetings  include a vendor reception and formal diner where members can meet with suppliers and manufactures to discuss there own particular needs.
